Information about Toastmasters Awards

Toastmasters International has a host of awards. Starting July 1, 2006, many of the designations have changed. Click here to see the educational awards for both the communications and leadership tracks.

The following awards are unique to District 33 and are in addition to Toastmasters International awards:

Ribbons Banner Raid:
The raiding Club needs five club members that are not members of the raided Club to be present for the entire period of the raided ("victim") Club's meeting. In addition, at least two duties must be performed by members of the raiding Club. Click herer for the Full rules. The raiding Club receives a black ribbon at the District Conference.

Seven officers trained:
Each Club that trains all seven officers in each reporting period receives a pink ribbon. The ribbon is given at the TLI if the criteria is met; otherrwise at the District Conference. (Goal 9 of the DCP requires 4 officers trained to receive Club credit) 2 + 2 Award: Each Club that submits dues on time for each billing period (September and March), and submits officer lists for both periods (December, January), receives a green 2 + 2 ribbon. (DCP goal 10 of the DCP requires only one set of dues and one officer list submitted on time.) Clubs with annual elections may resubmit offier lists by December 31 to obtain this award. Clubs receive this ribbon at the Spring Conference.

First Timer Award:
Each Toastmaster attending a District 33 District Conference for the first time gets an orientation class, a continental breakfast, and a blue first-timer ribbon. Typically a fact-finding contest is also performed among the first timers, and the winner receives an award.

Traveling Plaques Milo Graham Award:
Awarded at each District conference to the Division that has the highest percentage of members registered at the conference based on the latest DPR (District Performance Report).

Norm Young Award:
Awarded to a Toastmaster who is considered to have contributed the most to the District efforts. This award is a traveling award. The recipient will be determined by the District Governor and presented at the Spring Conference.

Paris Latham District Spark Plug Award:
The Paris Lanham District Spark Plug Award is awarded to a District Officer who has best fulfilled the responsibilities of the office. This award is a traveling award. The recipient will be determined by the District Governor and presented at the Spring District Conference. It is not always awarded.

Best Club Bulletin Award: (Currently inactive)
The recipient of the Best Club Bulletin Award is determined by a committee selected by the District Bulletin Editor.

Lucille Latham Husband and Wife Team Award:
This Award goes to a husband and wife who have worked as a team to contribute to District efforts. This award is a traveling award., determined by the District Governor and presented at the Spring District Conference.

"Shorty" Williams Mentoring Award:
The recipient of the Charlene "Shorty" Williams award is a district Toastmaster who has provided Guidance, support, and mentoring to toastmasters at the club, division, and/or District level. This award is a traveling award and is determined by the District Governor.

Jerry Theo Behind the Scenes Award:
Given at the year end Division Contest to theToastmaster for outstanding support of the Division for the year. The recipent is selected by the Division Governor.
