Toastmasters holds four contests per year. Tthe Evaluation and Humorous contests are held in the fall. The Tall Tales and International Speech contests are held in the spring. If you are interested in becoming an Evaluation contest competitor, you may want to get some evaluation advice . For you Tall Tales folks, here is a little bit of help with Tall Tales criteria.

So you still want to compete? Checkout the seven mandates for competitive speaking. Toastmasters International sells a few documents at their onlines store which may be helpful to you. Here are a few links to the online store.

You have your speech written and you have practiced it. Before you can compete, get your Certificate of Eligibility and Originality and your Biographical Information turned into your Area Governor.

Are you an Area or Division Governor? You have a lot of work to do when organizing a speech contest. You should look over the contest rules and then read about conducting quality speech contests. The Toastmasters online store also has a few goodies for Area and Division Governors.

Ok! You competed and lost. You are not the only one. Here is a little advice to help you get back on track.
