Toastmasters Tracks

The Toastmasters educational program is divided into two tracks - a communication track and a leadership track. Members are encouraged to participate in both tracks. The two tracks are not mutually exclusive and you can work in both at the same time. Both also provide for specific accomplishments.
The awards and their requirements appear in the Educational Program Summary chart below. The diagram shows the award progression in each track.

We are in a transition period through June 30, 2008. Toastmasters International expanded its leadership track by introducing the Competent Leadership manual in 2006. Members who have already completed some of the old Competent Leader requirements do not need to start over with the new Competent Leader requirements.

Members have until June 30, 2008, to apply for the old Competent Leadership award under the requirements in effect through June 30, 2006. From July 1, 2008, onward all applicants will need to meet the new requirements.

For more information, see the TI Introduces New Leadership Manual and Awards article from the November 2005 The Toastmaster magazine and How the New Leadership Manual Fits Your Club from the December 2005 issue.
